Ava T asked:

I need to calculate the rent for each bedroom but they’re all different sizes. I can’t get the square footage because the old tenant is still moving out and I need to place an ad right away. All I know is that the largest room is 1.5 times the smallest one and the third bedroom is a size somewhere between the smallest one and the biggest one.

I don’t need to separate between shared space and bedroom. Just want to figure out the rent by the size of the bedrooms. Can anyone help me?

I am single and looking to buy a 3 to 4 bedroom house or multi-family in the suburbs of Boston. I am looking to buy cheap and have about 15K available for a down payment. I would rent out the excess bedrooms.

How much should my salary be? How would I calculate the total annual costs of running the house(insurance, repairs, taxes etc.)? Would it be a better idea to have a 3-4 bedroom or a duplex?

I have a really small and awkward bedroom. I’ve tried rearranging, but nothing seems to work. What are some tips?

The house we are interested in has been damaged by fire on the lower levels which includes 2 of the bedroom, garage, and the guest bath. Structurally the house is sound, was built in the late 1800-early 1900’s. My uncled is willing to sell it to me for an extreamly good deal, but our only concern is the fact that it most likely needs to be completely rewired. The top level which icludes living room, dining room, kitchen, master bath, master bedroom, and guest bedroom have no damage except soot.
I am interested in a rough estimate for what it might cost to completely rewire the house doing an almost complete demo on the bottom, and while keeping upstairs almost completely intact to maintain the homes integrity.
I know to have an electrician look at it, we are, but i would like as many opinions possible to make this decision.
The fire was not caused due to an electrical problem. It was caused by a small space heater.
