I need to transition my 8 month old into a crib in her own room. She is currently sleeping in my bed and a co-sleeper. She starts in the co sleeper and generaly ends up next to me either by crawling to me or durning a night time feeding I fall asleep. However since she is crawling, and standing our sleep situation is no longer safe. She will nap in her crib during the day but fights it horribly at night. She doesn’t cry it out well, it just escalates, and she can last (and has) for hours. So I would like to find a way that doesn’t involve much crying. I really need some ideas….

I am expecting and am new to this all. As a new mother, I know there are going to be things that are going to go wrong but, I’d prefer to keep them to a minimum, as we all do. I am planning on keeping her in a bassinet in our bedroom until she outgrows it. But, I was thinking, once she outgrows her bassinet is it okay to leave her in her crib at night and rely on baby monitors? Or is there a certain amount of time she should spend in our room with us? (Of course not in the same bed obviously).
